Purpose / Description
Supports Ngāti Porou-anchored Matariki events and programmes that grow reo use, tikanga practice, whakapapa integrity, intergenerational reach, and long-term legacy. Each Rohenga Tipuna can access up to $10,000 (funding may go to one entity or be shared across multiple).
Eligibility & Criteria
- Applicant must be a registered Ngāti Porou member or entity.
- Must have formal endorsement from Rohenga Tipuna and/or hapū/marae collective (resolution required).
- Applications assessed against the Toitū Funding Matrix
Application Process
- Endorsement & integrity – attach endorsing resolution.
- Kaupapa plan – include event/programme details (name, dates, itinerary, purpose), select funding tier, set outcome targets & evidence, outline tikanga plan, reach, sustainability, and provide a budget linked to outcomes.
- Submit & assessment – applications scored via the Funding Matrix.
- Reporting requirements - Reporting due within 10 working days of event.
